THE GREAT HUAYHUASH
The Huayhuash mountain range is one of the most beautiful places in Peru, the hikes in this area are many times compared to those that take place in the Anapurnas Nepal Its 180 kilometers of route, its high passes that exceed the 4 300 meters, the hospitality of its inhabitants and the beautiful landscapes, make this the favorite of the adventurous walkers. On the way you can see dozens of rugged and imposing mountains over 6000 meters above sea level and the majestic Yerupajá, is the second highest mountain in Peru.
Duration: 14 days.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Pick up at the airport (Lima) and transfer to the chosen hotel
Day 2: Lima - Huaraz, by bus
Day 3: Huaraz (3100 m), return to Huascarán 4 hours of walking at 4250 meters above sea level
Day 4: Huaraz - Cuartelwain Matacancha at 4185 meters above sea level
Day 5: Matacancha - Mitucocha at 4 230 masl
Day 6: Mitucocha - Carhuacocha at 4140 meters above sea level
Day 7: Carhuacocha - Huayhuash at 4330 meters above sea level
Day 8: Huayhuash -Viconga at 4400 meters above sea level
Day 9: Viconga - Huanacpatay at 3500 meters above sea level
Day 10: Huanacpatay - Gashpapampa at 4430 meters above sea level
Day 11: Gashpapampa - Jahuacocha at 4070 masl
(Optional ascent to the snow-covered Diablo Mudo at 5427 masl)
Day 12: Jahuacocha - Llámac at 3250 meters above sea level
Day 13: Llámac - Huaraz by bus
Day 14: Huaraz - Lima by bus
